Blackmagic Design Videohub Mini 6x2 12G Router

The Blackmagic Design Videohub Mini 6x2 12G Router offers ultracompact, half-rack width flexibility for live production. It features six 12G-SDI inputs, six 12G-SDI loop outputs, and two 12G-SDI outputs on the back panel. Front panel controls, including push buttons and a knob, allow direct routing, while Ethernet connectivity enables automated routing functions. The front panel also includes a 12G-SDI input, a 12G-SDI output, and a USB-C output that overrides the back panel ports. The USB-C port functions as a webcam for direct streaming, and dedicated reference I/O ports support the clean switch function using Blackburst or Tri-sync signals.

Streamlined Cable Connections

Designed to expand SDI connectivity without taking up valuable rack space, the Videohub Mini allows additional inputs for ATEM switchers, streaming encoders, HyperDeck recorders, or video monitors. Front panel SDI connections provide quick access for emergency or temporary setups, eliminating the need to fumble with cables at the back of the rack.

Front Panel Router Control & Video Patching

The front panel supports fast cut-bus-style switching with dedicated buttons for outputs and inputs. Simply select the destination button and then the source button. Front panel SDI ports allow quick patching of external gear, and the front input overrides the highest-numbered rear input. A USB-C webcam output supports recording, video scopes, or streaming software from a computer.

Advanced 12G-SDI Connections

All Videohub Mini models support multirate 12G-SDI, compatible with SD, HD, UHD up to 2160p60. This enables seamless connections across SDI formats, including SD, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI. The router can handle multiple video standards simultaneously, automatically adjusting output standards.

Clean Switch on Each Video Output

Each output features a “clean switch” function for stable transitions between sources. This output-based design allows selective re-syncing, preventing frame insertion on recorders while ensuring seamless switching for monitors and streaming encoders. Clean switch locks sources to the reference input.

Full SDI Re-Clocking

Each 12G-SDI input includes SDI re-clocking, regenerating video signals to maintain quality over long cable runs and preventing SDI data errors. This ensures reliable video performance without dropouts, even with extended cable lengths.

Front Panel Emergency Patch Connections

Front-facing 12G-SDI patch connectors provide direct access for emergency connections or additional gear. Front inputs override the highest-numbered rear input, and the 6x2 model also includes a front 12G-SDI output mirroring the highest output number for convenience.

USB Webcam Output

The front USB-C port acts as an HD webcam, allowing direct live streaming from SDI sources to platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, OBS, and XSplit Broadcaster. UHD sources are down-converted to 1080p for full software compatibility.

Remote or Hardware Control

Integrate the router with Videohub Software or a Master Control Pro panel for hardware or remote control. Developers can use the included SDK to automate routing and integrate with existing workflows.

Redundant Power Supply

Power can be supplied via the built-in AC supply or a 12V DC connection, allowing flexibility with wall outlets or external DC sources for uninterrupted production reliability.
