Blackmagic Design Streaming Decoder 4K

The Blackmagic Design Streaming Decoder 4K is a compact, professional solution for converting H.264 or H.265 streams from the Streaming Encoder into SDI and HDMI video. It supports a variety of Blackmagic Design cameras, including the Studio Camera Pro, PYXIS, URSA Cine, and URSA Broadcast G2, allowing direct streaming from the camera without additional hardware for seamless point-to-point video transmission.

Equipped with a 12G-SDI reference input, the decoder enables SDI tally, camera control, and talkback, sending signals back to the encoder. Both front and rear USB-C ports provide high-speed tethering with 5G and 4G phones. In case of internet failure, the device automatically switches to the phone’s data connection, with user-selectable prioritization between Ethernet and phone connectivity.

For cameras lacking built-in streaming, the Blackmagic Streaming Encoder can be used, with control integrated through the encoder’s SDI monitoring output connected to the camera’s SDI input. The ultraportable 5.5" wide design allows alignment with up to two additional devices in a 1 RU rack space. The decoder includes the Blackmagic Streaming Utility software for easy setup and operation.
